Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced IT consultant to conduct a thorough assessment of our software development project. The consultant will evaluate the project’s current state, identify bottlenecks, and provide actionable recommendations for improvement. You should be familiar with a wide range of coding languages, frameworks, and tools used by development teams, as we aim to ensure all potential technologies are covered.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct a comprehensive evaluation of our software development project, covering code quality, team workflows, and project management.
• Analyze codebases and development environments across various programming languages, frameworks, and tools, including but not limited to Python, Node.js, Java, Next.js, NestJS, and any additional technologies used by our team.
• Assess the use of machine learning frameworks, databases, and backend systems as applicable.
• Evaluate compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., HIPAA, FHIR) in healthcare-related projects.
• Provide detailed feedback and recommendations for technical and process improvements.
• Suggest tools, processes, or strategies to increase productivity and optimize workflows.
• Offer ongoing consultation and support as needed.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in software development consulting and project assessment.
• Strong expertise across a broad range of programming languages, frameworks, and tools (e.g., Python, Node.js, Java, Next.js, NestJS) with flexibility to adapt to additional technologies in use by the team.
• Familiarity with machine learning, backend development, databases (e.g., MongoDB, PostgreSQL), and relevant APIs or services.
• Experience with healthcare IT systems and standards (e.g., FHIR, HIPAA) is highly preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to deliver clear, actionable insights.

Preferred:

• Experience working with remote or distributed development teams.
• Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Background in QA testing methodologies, including automated testing.

Work Hours: Part-time (Number of hours to be discussed)

Schedule: Business Hours in Pacific Time

Rate: $10/hr, negotiable
