The successful candidate will be an assistant to the Payroll Coordinator and help with daily tasks so that the coordinator can keep up with other tasks the accounting team may need assistance with.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Completion of a bookkeeping or similar course is highly advantageous
  • Previous experience as a Payroll Assistant or in Accounting
  • Familiarity with payroll software
  • Excellent data entry, data cleaning, and math skills
  • Capacity to keep track of numerous ongoing tasks
  • Familiarity with is a plus!
Push payroll from the platform each day
Resolve any payroll errors that may occur each day
Batching payroll
  • Will be batched differently on different platforms (Dropbox, Google Drive, payroll company’s own platforms)
  • May need to be batched in specific ways if the client requests it
Keep up with new projects that are coming in
  • Create/update with their information
  • Update the payroll spreadsheet once they are active
Update the payroll spreadsheet daily
  • What days you pushed payroll for, what is outstanding in the project, number of stragglers
  • Move projects to the straggler’s category as needed
Check for Revised vouchers
  • Understand how to check that they have actually been revised, and how to send those that have been revised to payroll
Keep up with basic status and inquiries about projects
  • Be able to respond to paymasters if/when they reach out with questions about pay rates, bumps, or questions about BG*
