Remote Crypto Senior Accountant

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Remote Crypto Accountant to join our dynamic team in our crypto accounting firm. We provide outsourced accounting services to a myriad of Web3 organizations. As a key member of our accounting team, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing financial processes related to cryptocurrency transactions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of crypto accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.

This is a full-time position, working 9am- 5pm EST, United States Hours.

Rates: $1,000 – $1,500 (DOE)

Responsibilities:

• Cryptocurrency Accounting:
  • Record and reconcile transactions involving various cryptocurrencies.
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of crypto-related financial data in accordance with accounting principles.
• Financial Reporting:
  • Experience in end-to-end accounting processes including financial statement reporting, journal entries, adjustments & month-end-close, AP/AR, bank & credit card reconciliations, payroll, tax prep, inventory, etc.
  • Prepare regular financial reports detailing crypto asset holdings, gains, and losses.
  • Experience generating financial reports for crypto currency transactions and reconciliation of this information, particularly in subledgers.
  • Assist in the generation of financial statements that incorporate cryptocurrency transactions.
• Respond to Clients and Outsourced Group
  • Be part of the team that responds to client inquiries and requests to ensure top-tier service is consistently provided.
  • Be part of the team that responds to outsourced organization inquires to ensure timely close and processing of data.
  • Research responses, as required.
• Tax Compliance:
  • Collaborate with tax professionals to ensure accurate reporting of cryptocurrency transactions for tax purposes.
  • Produce basic tax filings such as 1099s for clients.
• Auditing and Compliance:
  • Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations related to cryptocurrency transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.
• Process Optimization:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement in crypto accounting procedures.
  • Implement and streamline efficient workflows for managing crypto financial data.
• Risk Management:
  • Monitor and assess risks associated with cryptocurrency transactions
  • Develop strategies to mitigate potential financial risks.
• Communication and Collaboration:
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including accounting, legal, and IT, to ensure alignment on crypto accounting practices.
  • Communicate complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or the equivalent in work experience.
• Proven experience in cryptocurrency accounting and financial analysis.
• Strong understanding of blockchain technology and various cryptocurrencies.
• Proficiency in accounting software and tools including QBO and other accounting software programs.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Previous experience with U.S. clients.
• Ability to work independently in a remote work environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or strong experience working with crypto currency subledgers.
• Experience with remote work and familiarity with remote collaboration tools.
• Knowledge of blockchain and smart contract technologies.
