Position Overview:
As a Small Business Virtual Assistant (VA), Accountant, and Bookkeeper, you will play a crucial role in managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and providing administrative support to small businesses. Your primary responsibilities will include managing bookkeeping tasks, processing invoices, reconciling accounts, preparing financial statements, and assisting with various administrative duties. Depending on the arrangement, you will work remotely, providing virtual assistance to multiple clients or a single small business.
This part-time position requires 2 hours of work per day, 5 days a week, for a total of 10 hours per week. The hourly rate for this position is $5-$8 depending on experience. Scheduled work hours are flexible.
Responsibilities:
• Bookkeeping and Accounting Tasks:
Maintain accurate financial records and organize financial data.
Process and record accounts payable and receivable transactions.
Reconcile bank and credit card statements regularly.
Prepare and process payroll, ensuring accurate calculations and timely payments.
Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
Prepare and submit tax returns and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
• Financial Analysis and Reporting:
Generate and analyze financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Identify trends, variances, and financial discrepancies and provide recommendations to improve financial performance.
Assist with financial planning and forecasting activities.
Conduct cost analysis and help optimize expenses.
• Administrative Support:
Assist with general administrative tasks, such as managing emails, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings.
Maintain organized files and documentation systems.
Assist with customer invoicing and collections.
Help manage inventory and monitor procurement processes.
Support with other ad-hoc administrative tasks as required.
• Software and Technology:
Utilize accounting software and tools effectively, such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms.
Stay updated on industry best practices and accounting software advancements.
Provide recommendations for software and tool improvements to streamline processes.
• Communication and Collaboration:
Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, providing timely updates and responding to inquiries.
Collaborate with clients or other team members to address specific accounting or financial needs.
Maintain professionalism and confidentiality when dealing with sensitive financial information.
• Requirements:
Proven experience as an Accountant, Bookkeeper, or similar role.
Proficient knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Familiarity with accounting software and tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, etc.).
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple clients or tasks simultaneously.
Knowledge of small business operations and financial management.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Public Accountant, Certified Bookkeeper) are a plus.
